Stefan Calderwood (17) produced an excellent performance to win the Tullymore Cup at Ballymena Golf Club, finishing an impressive 8up against the Raceview course.

Calderwood made a strong start with pars at the opening two holes before a bogey at the par-five third. Further pars followed at the fourth and fifth before he suffered his first loss against the course at the sixth, followed by another at the short par-three seventh.

He responded immediately by picking up a win at the eighth before tying the ninth with a bogey six to reach the halfway stage 3up.

The back nine began superbly, with pars at the tenth and eleventh adding another two wins to his total. Calderwood then played the difficult twelfth to his handicap before another par at the thirteenth moved him further ahead.

A bogey at the long par-three fourteenth was followed by a par at the fifteenth and consecutive bogeys at sixteen and seventeen. Calderwood finished in style with a par at the last, completing the back nine 5up and securing an outstanding 8up overall.

Second place went to John Montgomery (27), who finished just one behind on 7up. Montgomery was 1up after his opening nine before producing an exceptional start to the back nine, winning each of the next five holes. Three ties followed before a crucial par at the eighteenth secured a back nine of 6up and second place on countback.
