Weekly Results – Ballymena Golf Club

Another busy week of competition at Ballymena Golf Club saw a mixture of ladies’, mixed and men’s events, culminating in Robert Graham taking the O’Kane Cup in testing conditions.

Centenary Trophy Aggregate

Joanne Galloway claimed the Centenary Trophy Aggregate with a net 73, finishing one shot clear of Barbara Totten on 74.

Jill Crockard and Gill Small both finished on net 76, with Small also recording the

lowest gross score.

Ladies’ Stableford 9 Hole

Janet Gaston (23) topped the Ladies’ 9 Hole Stableford with 19 points.

Elizabeth Anderson (17) and Margaret Heaney (22) both returned 17 points, with Anderson taking second place.

O’Mullan Mixed Stableford

Gareth McCullough (9) and Heather McGarry combined to win the O’Mullan Mixed Stableford with 23 points.

William Owens (11) and Elizabeth Lynn finished runners-up with 22 points.

O’Kane Cup

Robert Graham (9) won the O’Kane Cup with an excellent 39 points in testing conditions.

Graham reached the turn with 17 points before producing a strong back nine which included birdies at the 10th, 13th and 15th. His 39-point total was enough to secure victory on countback.

David Montgomery (13) also finished on 39 points to take second place, while Gareth McCullough (10) claimed third after finishing on 38 points.

Andrew Gregg (12), Brian McDermott (30) and John McCann (10) also returned 38 points.

Gary Black won the gross prize with a two-over-par 70, with Richard Mark runner-up on 72.

There were 12 twos recorded, with Richard Mark the only player to register twice, doing so at the 7th and 10th holes.

Sunday Open Stableford

David Jackson (19) won the Sunday Open Stableford with 37 points.

Gary Conaughty (16) also finished on 37 points, with Colm Cunningham (12) taking third place on 36 points.
